QIC Group launches QIC Learning Academy and conducts Phase One of the development programme

Qatar Insurance Group, the leading insurer in the MENA region has launched an in-house development programme, namely, the QIC Learning Academy. The first session “Phase One”, which was conducted recently at QIC Headquarters in West Bay was highly successful and was very well received by the attendees of the session

QIC Group consistently advocates the development of human capital to build a strong knowledge based economy through support from its Senior Management. In view of this, QIC Group continues to attract, motivate, develop and retain Qatari talent. Pursuant to its consistent efforts at aligning with this goal, QIC Group has not only attracted, but has also groomed young and ambitious Qatari nationals to assume leadership and senior specialist positions within the Group. Delving further on this initiative, QIC Group launched the QIC Learning Academy to empower its Qatari staff with the right mix of technical know-how, business acumen and capabilities to achieve operational excellence in their respective fields

The QIC Learning Academy focuses on providing comprehensive development programme in the form of formal and informal learning modules, mentoring and work-based experiences to accelerate personal development and enhance career progression of the company’s Qatari workforce. Attendees of the programme are trained by a set of highly experienced Mentors, who are experts in various fields of the insurance business

The Phase One session kicked off with an introductory speech from Mr. Abdulla Y. Al Mulla, Group Chief Administrative Officer of QIC Group who stressed on the importance of the Learning Academy and stated, “Training and nurturing local talent has always been a business priority for the QIC Group. Through the launch of the QIC Learning Academy, we shall continue to invest and nurture our young Qatari staff so that they can grow both personally and achieve career satisfaction.”

He further stated, “Driven by the goal to support our workforce, we will continue to provide Qataris with unrivalled opportunities to fulfil their ambitions and support the long term growth and sustainability of QIC Group.”

The session was taken over by Lead Mentor, Mr. Frederik Bisbjerg, Executive Vice President – MENA Retail & Motor Fleet. Enthralling the attendees with a highly interactive session, He further stated that, “Today’s session is all about developing untapped competencies and achieving success by creating a high performance work environment that is innovation based and result driven through sharing experiences. Together we want to ensure that we create a mindset in which you expand your scope of thinking and widen your abilities.”
